We Have Signal presents: Dan Sartain

Here's an AWESOME Dan Sartain live/interview video posted by We Have Signal.

What they say about them:
We Have Signal is APT’s live episodic music program filmed exclusively at the BottleTree Café in Birmingham, AL. The series features new and innovative bands from around the state, the country and even the world.

What they say about this vid:
Two things I feel like I need to confess:

1. I met Dan a little over 10 years ago, and I've been a fan of him musically and personally ever since.

2. I don't know if Dan is even fully aware of this or not, but this show wouldn't really exist without him. In 2006 (or was it '07?), a few people from what would become the WHS crew shot a show of his at BottleTree for a DVD he was working on. After seeing the footage, I felt like we had a pretty good handle on this whole shooting live music thing and we really needed to get something like this on the air (a couple of us had already been working on another music project for a couple of years at that point). It only took a couple of years of actively trying to convince people that it would be a good idea, and here we are.

Anyway, for a bunch of reasons that are too boring to mention, we haven't been able to get Dan on the show until now, but we're really happy to finally have him. Enjoy!

And yes, we de enjoy such a vid!

Here what they say about it on their Vimeo Channel:

Dan Sartain: The Daytrotter Session (2007)

What's a Daytrotter session ?

Here's what their website is saying:
For over four years now, we here at Daytrotter have been taping some of the world's best and brightest artists straight to quarter-inch tape, right here in Rock Island, Ill. We have this character out in California supply us with used BASF tape that the television and movie studios are ridding themselves of. It's perfectly good tape and we've taped well over a thousand sessions since we started this site in February of 2006. Everything has been kept on these reels of tape over the years and, while we've been making all of these unique, one-of-a-kind sessions available to the public, freely streaming and downloadable at 128 bitrate, for the audiophiles and the great fans -- not to mention the pure music lovers, that leaves some fidelity to be desired.

Some of you might have already the mp3s of the recording session with Dan Sartain as there were part of the download bundle that can be find here but I recommend you to go the the Daytrotter Session website. You will find a very interresting article about Dan Sartain and be able to listen to/download for free the songs of this Sessions.

Here's the tracklisting of this session:

1. I Don't Wanna Go To The Party
2. Hangers On
3. Done A Lot
4. Tiger Man

This session was recorded in 2007 so you will be able to listen to an early version of the song I Don't Wanna Go To The Party that Dan released in 2010 on the Dan Sartain Lives album.
